Made in Mexico
From the beginning of the adventure, Laetitia wanted to create a project with meaning. Motivated by the desire to manufacture innovative, beautiful, quality products made in Mexico, she visited several factories, explained her vision and her ideas, and managed to convince some partners to follow her in this project.
In 2015, the first beach towels made in Mexico left the Mexican factories. The success was immediate, even internationally, even on the streets of Los Angeles, where a certain Jessica Alba sported her Las Bayadas "El Martin" beach bag in 2016! From sourcing to manufacturing, the Las Bayadas brand continues to favor short supply chains and Mexican craftsmanship. Laetitia and her teams work with family businesses throughout Mexico. Season after season, they imagine new products made in Mexico together and participate in the growth of small players in the textile industry in Mexico.
An innovative and social production model
Las Bayadas products are made by the "Puerto Vallarta Sewing School and Workshop." This production cooperative supports the professional retraining of disadvantaged individuals through sewing courses, technical training in the use of specialized equipment, and the creation of jobs in the city of Puerto Vallarta.
This social project offers a quality sewing service whose proceeds go directly to the seamstresses—women from the community—thereby contributing to the well-being of many families in Puerto Vallarta.
Female employment
Supporting women's rights and their access to the same resources and opportunities as men changes their lives, those of their communities, and positively impacts society as a whole. Although Mexico has a relatively high proportion of women in the labor market, it is far behind an industrialized country like Canada.
Sensitive to gender inequality, Las Bayadas has devised a business model that prioritizes women. In 2023, all our employees are women and mothers whom we accommodate so they can sustainably balance work and family life.
Recycled cotton
Using recycled fibers allows us to benefit from quality raw materials while reducing water consumption and CO2 emissions.
For this reason, the cotton used in Las Bayadas fabrics is recycled in Mexico and is "Global Recycled Standard" certified. This label guarantees, among other things, traceability and compliance with environmental and social criteria.
